Tummy bug still visiting us... today, A was cranky and feverish.  Poor little dude.

The kids came outside with me while I worked in the garden, watering the seeds/sprouts and setting up a soaker hose.  I watered the plants once or twice after transplanting them, but I'm trying to do the infrequent, deep watering thing.  Our soil here is on the clay-ey side, and it didn't hold water well.  Watering did not go well, and I think the garden suffered.  I'm hoping that it will be better this year, with the raised beds full of compost and top dressing.  Weekly deep watering is supposed to help plants grow deep, strong roots and get more water from deep in the soil.

A loves playing in the water as it comes out of the watering can; unfortunately, he also likes to play in the wet dirt.  I ended up setting a full watering can on its side on our picnic table.  A had a blast splashing around in the "shower."

We managed to do some math and reading in the afternoon, when it was too hot to be outside, but school work is definitely winding down.  D and S have been spending more time outside, riding bikes, playing with kids, at the playground, etc.

I still had pots and pans sitting around from two nights ago.  A managed to nap for a while in the late afternoon, which gave me some time to tackle them.  I don't consider myself a neatnick or whatever, but man is it aggravating to have a messy house and not be able to clean it up, even just to my fairly lax standards.
